About Me
I have played professionally for over 25 years, and I'm passionate about creating a culture of listening, mentoring, and advocacy through Jazz. To me, music is the only truly universal language of the soul, connecting people from all experiences and places to a beautiful and intimate conversation. Whether playing or teaching, I consider it one of the greatest privileges of my life to be able to connect people to this conversation and share the journey.
My ExperienceI have performed many different styles of music on many different stages since I was 13 years old...from Dixieland, Big Band, and Hard Bop to Gospel, Rock, and Hip Hop. I have performed on small, intimate stages such as The Lighthouse in LA and Dizzy's in San Diego, as well as large stages such as the Hollywood Bowl, the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. I have had the pleasure of performing with incredible local artists and bands such as the Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Josh Nelson, and Peter Sprague as well as superstars Diana Krall, Al Jarreau, Roy Hargrove, and Christian McBride.
